Keep, flip, multiply.

To divide by a fraction, keep the first, flip the second (its reciprocal), and multiply. Dividing by 1/4 is the same as multiplying by 4.

Dividing asks “how many of these fit?”. 1/2 ÷ 1/4 asks how many quarters in a half — two.
